TMRP

Improving Health by Improving Trials

We work together as a Network to make a real difference to improve the quality of trials and, ultimately, patient care. The HTMR Network promotes and encourages collaborative methodological research relevant to trials, with the aim of accelerating implementation of the most effective and appropriate methods.

The Hubs for Trials Methodology Research (HTMR) were first established by the MRC in 2009 to create a UK-wide regionally distributed research resource to improve the design, conduct, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of clinical trials.

The HTMR Network was created to add value by enhancing the activities of the individual Hubs, strengthening the methodological research further, and aiding dissemination and education relating to good methods in clinical trials. Our activities include:

  • Facilitating collaborative inter-Hub projects
  • Supporting training in new methods
  • Encouraging new collaborations inside and outside the Network through its Working Groups
  • Strengthening communication across the Hubs and with the wider methodology and trials community
  • And acting as a central contact point between key stakeholders and the Hubs.
